Rigoberto Urán continues to be the center of attraction of the peloton of figures participating in the Tour Colombia. The leader of the EF Pro Cycling team arrived in the field in the first stage of the race, in which he beat Fernando Gaviria.
Waiting for a stage in which he can put up more of a fight, since the first fraction was flat, Urán remains very active on social networks, taking advantage of the popularity of the soap opera based on his life.
However, this time Rigo took a more formal position. And he did it to tell the story of a young amateur cyclist who came to the roads of Boyacá to accompany him and give him sincere thanks.
The protagonist of the story is Ómar Vásquez, a young rider born in Chitaraque (Boyacá) and who caught up with Urán and his teammates: the bicycle he was riding was a gift from Rigo.
“I am here, I came and I was given the opportunity to come just to thank Rigo for this beautiful gift, this beautiful bicycle. Here, with a lot of effort and dedication, here I am, giving my all to be able to finish the training with them,” Vásquez said in the video.
In the video, Rigo encourages Omar to keep up with them. Then, the young man suffered a fall during training and Urán gave him some advice: “You started chasing us and look how you damaged your shirt. He started walking behind us, so we have to walk a little more carefully.”
Urán wrote a phrase on his Instagram account to summarize what he experienced with this show of affection from one of his fans.
“An anecdote that will stay in the heart forever. There is nothing more beautiful than gratitude, little ones, something that we lose over time because we start to normalize the things in life, but children don't lose it, he fell and got up to keep rolling. Thank you Boyacá,” said Rigo.
