A few days ago, the European Union opened its call to finance actions and proposals from Civil Society Organizations in Colombia, with the aim of strengthening the role and actions of NGOs in the country.
The call is aimed at non-profit civil society organizations and with legal status that have been established at least five years ago.
Additionally, Those who apply must have four years of experience in project management, of which two must correspond to projects in Colombia and in the technical areas to which they will apply.
The actions and projects to be financed by the EU must be focused on the areas of digital inclusion, just transitions and green jobs, social innovation for peace, protection of leaders and human rights defenders and participation in the transitional justice system.

Thus, projects that help the inclusion of vulnerable communities through new technologies, programs that promote labor formalization through innovative ideas, that address the social problems that generate cycles of violence, that provide support for people and organizations defending human rights, among many others.
The actions and projects must also have a duration between 36 and 60 months.
According to the European Union, The objective of this financing program is to “strengthen the role and actions of Civil Society Organizations (CSO) as actors that contribute to sustainable territorial development based on digital transformation and just transitions, on reconciliation, the promotion and protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms, democracy and the rule of law.

The objective is to strengthen the role and actions of Organizations as actors that contribute to territorial development.
The call will be open until February 20 (11 am Colombia time – 5 pm Brussels time). Organizations must register on the PADOR platform and submit their application on PROSPECT.
The EU also enabled the following “guide for applicants” in order to detail the types of activity that can be applied for and the eligibility requirements for financing. It also enabled a user manual to facilitate the registration process for those interested in applying for this call.
