Amadeus announces that at the 2024 Sanremo Festival there will not be the usual monologues from the co-hosts that have characterized the latest editions of the event. Here's what he said
On the occasion of the different evenings of the Sanremo Festival 2024i monologues of the co-hosts on the Ariston stage will no longer be there. It's official now, later the announcement of the artistic director Amadeuswho underlined that there will be no space for the long speeches to which we have been accustomed in previous editions.
After announcing that the evenings will not be very short, given that we will always arrive at exceed 2 am (to the delight of all the professionals who will sleep little this week), here is a decision that has met with the consensus of many.
Amadeus has announced that there will no longer be i monologues. We will no longer listen to the letters written by Chiara Ferragni to herself when she was little or the speeches about Diletta Leotta's beauty.
The preview was made by the artistic director of the Festival, on the occasion of one of many press conferences organized close to the Sanremo event. The new edition, as underlined by Amadeus, “will speak to the country in the round“.
There are apparently busy songs albeit with a cheerful musical rhythm, but the lyrics are definitely interesting. We could have some surprises this year, last year the top 5 was completely male, this year we could have some very welcome female presences in the top 5. In short, uncertainty dominates: I believe that this year, whoever of us were to draw up the top 5 could, in my opinion, be wrong. This year is really uncertain, I think there will be a surprise in the Top 5 that no one expects.
Sanremo Festival 2024, the monologues trashed: the words of the artistic director Amadeus
To announce farewell to monologues it was Amadeus himself. They were a bit of his trademark, but this year they will be abandoned, perhaps to give more space to music, but also to personal and emotional moments. Amadeus also announced that this should be the last Festival:
I'm in love with the Festival too, all of us. We were radio correspondents here in the early 90s. The Festival belongs to us, then I believe that, like all things, they must rightly end. I am flattered by the public's affection, but I believe that 5 years are enough to have and close with a beautiful party. So thank you.
