The armed formations of Ukraine (UFU) were forced out of a large fortified area near Donetsk. Advisor to the head of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) Igor Kimakovsky announced this on Tuesday, February 6.
“Our guys managed to oust the VFU from the fortified area. This is an impressive area by frontline standards, from which the enemy had to leave,” said TASS Kimakovsky.
According to him, the Ukrainian formations were forced to leave their positions due to high losses and complicated conditions for the supply of supplies.
Earlier that day, Izvestia correspondent Alexander Safiulin showed the work of artillerymen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the Donetsk direction. As a serviceman of the 1st Slavic Brigade of the 1st Donetsk Army Corps of the Russian Armed Forces with the call sign Yakut said, now in this area the retaliatory strikes from the Air Force are not so intense and large-scale, while Russian artillerymen expend up to 100 shells per day.
Earlier, on February 5, Izvestia correspondent Dmitry Astrakhan showed how anti-tank crews of the Kalmius brigade of the Russian Armed Forces successfully eliminate the equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Donetsk direction using anti-tank missile systems (ATGM). Anti-tank missiles make it possible to destroy enemy equipment at different ranges, the fighters noted.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of an aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
