Al-Sudani newspaper revealed that the arrest campaign targeted active officers in the Operations Department in Omdurman in particular.
An informed source told Sudanese media: “The detained officers who were placed under severe suspension are the commander of the reserve mobile in the Sarkab camp, the director of the technical department of the air defense, the person responsible for the radars and anti-drones jamming devices, and the official of strategic support and support operations for armored sites.”
The source added: “Preparations are underway to arrest the brigadier general and commander of one of the movements in the city of Omdurman. They are all detained under the guise of preparing a coup.”
A military source from the Wadi Saydna base said that the arrests of the officers coincided with the visit of a member of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council, Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Army, Ibrahim Jaber, to the Wadi Saydna military region.
