Charles III was hospitalized in January
On January 17, it became known that the King of Great Britain would be hospitalized due to a benign prostate disease. Public events with his participation, planned for January 18 and 19, were postponed on the advice of his attending physician “for a short period to recuperate.”
The UK National Health Service then clarified that prostate enlargement is common in men over 50 years of age. It was emphasized that this is not a cancer and “usually does not pose a serious threat to health.”
On January 29, the king was discharged from the hospital after undergoing a course of treatment. According to Sky News, Charles III will be out of action for a month as he recovers from the procedure.

The king is 'positive' about his treatment
Buckingham Palace added that Charles III will postpone his public duties, but will continue to work with state affairs and official documentation as usual.
The palace also said in a statement that the monarch “remains positive about her treatment and looks forward to returning to all her public duties in full.”
In the coming days, Charles's youngest son, Prince Harry, will travel to the UK to meet his father.
Upon learning of the British monarch's diagnosis, US President Joe Biden announced his intention to call him. “I’m worried about him,” the White House press pool quotes the American leader as saying.
According to Princess Diana's former butler Paul Burrell, Charles III may abdicate the throne. He believes the king will reign for another ten years and then cede the throne to his eldest son, Prince William, following the example of the Danish Queen Margrethe, who recently announced her abdication and handed the crown to Crown Prince Frederick.
As journalist Omid Scobie argues in his new book, conflict has long been brewing between the king and his eldest son. According to him, behind the scenes Prince William is a merciless tyrant, ready to do anything to quickly take the throne. Unlike his father, he does not want to wait until old age for the crown and takes every opportunity to improve his status. William considers Karl insufficiently competent to rule the country, and does not hide the fact that he is aiming for his place.
