Question of names
There Williams presentation for the 2024 season it did not offer any particular technical ideas. In fact, the British team simply used the 'base' of the 2023 single-seater to reveal the livery of the new season, which differs from that of last year only due to some slight chroming details and the presence of a greater number of sponsors.
One of these, however, sparked a fun social scene between the historic Grove team and the American team Haas. The latest addition to the list of brands that have decided to support the team directed by James Vowles is in fact Komatsua well-known Japanese company that produces earthmoving machinery.

However, it so happens that Komatsu is also the surname of Ayao Komatsufrom the beginning of January new Haas team principal in place of Gunther Steiner, whose contract was not renewed. The social joke made by the American team was immediate, commenting on the official photos of the presentation of the livery published by the official Williams account, they could not contain themselves.
“It was nice of you to include our team principal on the side“, the amused message published by the Americans. In fact, the Komatsu brand was placed right on the two side pods of the car, in plain sight for the cameras.
