Stellantis-Renault, John Elkann denies the merger: “It's not in the plans”
“There is no plan being studied regarding this Stellantis merger operations with other manufacturers”. This was stated by the president of. in response to some hypotheses circulated in the press Stellantis John Elkann recalling that “the company is focused on the execution of the 'Dare Forward' strategic plan and on the timely implementation of the announced projects, for strengthen its business in every market where it is present, including Italy”. “In this context – adds Elkann – Stellantis is committed to automotive table promoted by Mimitwhich unites the Italian government with all the players in the supply chain in achieving important common objectives to face the challenges of the energy transition together“.

Many Italian newspapers had relaunched in the last few hours the hypothesis of a union between Renault and Stellantis after the latter's CEO, Carlos Tavaresgave an interview to Bloomberg in which he spoke about how Chinese competition could push M&A Europe. The market seemed uncertain whether to believe it or not and on the morning of February 5th after the opening of trading Stellantis had started to collect sales losing over 1% in Piazza Affari, while in Paris Renault had started to surge earning 3%, and then return to +1%.
