“WSJ” report says that members of Space X and Tesla fear that abstaining from illicit activities will harm their relationship with the billionaire
The billionaire's relationship Elon Muskowner of SpaceX, Tesla and X (formerly Twitter), with members of the board of their companies is permeated by drug use, according to a report by Wall Street Journal, published on Saturday (3.Feb). The newspaper had already reported, in January, that the consumption of illicit drugs worried corporate executives.
According to the North American newspaper, drug consumption would be part of “culture” created around Musk. Directors and other employees of the electric car manufacturer and the aerospace company consider that not consuming illicit products could displease the businessman. There is a fear that abstention will alienate Musk and executives are afraid of risking losing the social capital provided by their proximity to the billionaire.
Ecstasy, LSD, mushrooms and ketamine would be the substances he most used in private meetings and “exotic vacation”. The newspaper lists some of the people who usually participate in these events with Musk:
Illegal, the drugs consumed by the businessman violate the strict anti-drug policies of his own companies. Furthermore, they could put SpaceX's federal contracts and Musk's security clearance at risk.
The newspaper also says that current and former directors of the companies are aware of the use of drugs, but avoid taking public action on the matter.
Elon Musk and his lawyer, Alex Spiro, did not comment on the report.
