Can cancer be detected earlier with a blood test? 'If this works, it will be a real hit'

Doctors are looking for ways to detect cancer at an increasingly earlier stage. In the US, patients can already take commercial blood tests. This new form of detection is now also being investigated in the Netherlands. “If this is successful, it will really be a major breakthrough in the detection of this disease,” says Otto Visser, head of cancer registries at the IKNL cancer center.
