A single and concise message from Shinji Mikaminow out of Tango GameWorks, has brought out the rumor about the possibility that The Evil Within 3 is in developmentor at least that there is some news coming regarding the horror series.
As also reported on Reddit, in fact, in the last few hours the following message in Japanese from Mikami appeared on X, in which the author reports “Psycho Break: maybe we'll be back”, or rather a decidedly cryptic phrase but which seems to open up the possibility of a return of the series in question.
Psycho Break is in fact the original name of The Evil Within used on the Japanese market, and the rest of the statement seems to indicate a return of the series in question in some form, perhaps with a new chapter.
Many questions on the matter
THE question marks there are many: starting from the vagueness of the statement, which does not make the meaning of what Mikami wants to state at all clear, to finally arrive at the possibility that the author really has something to do with the game.
As we reported in recent months, Shinji Mikami has in fact left Tango GameWorks, therefore he should not have to directly deal with the potential new chapter, although he could still be involved as an external consultant, so some possibilities remain.
In fact, an easter egg contained within Hi-Fi Rush suggests that the development of The Evil Within 3 was already underway several months ago, so all that remains is to wait for any news on the matter.
