On the occasion of thee-Lion Day 2024, Peugeot took stock of the situation regarding his future strategy with particular attention to sustainabilityextended beyond the production of electric vehicles with services, customer experience and initiatives aimed at respecting the environment.
Peugeot in 2023 was the leader of the electric B segment in Europe and confirmed the expansion of the electric model range, with the arrival in 2024 of the Bev variant of the 408 and of new e-5008bringing the total to 12 electric models, including commercial vehicles.
In parallel, Peugeot has started the integration of artificial intelligence of ChatGPT in European markets, including Italy, as part of the innovation process.
Peugeot news 2024 e-Lion Day
Among the Peugeot innovations in 2024, there are the two new electric cars arriving: the e-408 and the e-5008bringing the total to 9 cars and 3 light commercial vehicles: PEUGEOT E-208, E-2008, E-308, E-308 SW, E-3008, E-RIFTER, E-TRAVELER, E-PARTNER, E-EXPERT , E-BOXERS.
In 2023, Peugeot was the electric B-segment leader in Europe with e-208 and e-2008 and is also the leading seller of zero-emission light commercial vehicles in Europe.
In France, Peugeot also promotes offers such as “Peugeot Personalized Leasing” and participates in the plan “My Electric Lease” of the French government with rates starting from 99 euros per month.
Linda Jackson, CEO of PEUGEOT: “With the E-Lion project, PEUGEOT mobilizes all its technological know-how and the creativity of its teams to allow all its customers to access sustainable mobility. As leaders, we want to pave the way. It's an incredibly rewarding task.”
8 year guarantee
An important novelty is one longer lasting guarantee on electric cars. With the aim of guaranteeing maximum peace of mind to users who choose electric cars, Peugeot extends the warranty up to 8 years, starting immediately on the new e-3008. The innovative formula “Peugeot Allure Care” provides coverage for the electric motor, charger, powertrain and major electrical and mechanical components for up to 8 years / 160,000 km.
This coverage is in addition to Peugeot's specific warranty for all batteries of its electric vehicles, also lasting 8 years/160,000 kmextending to cover the entire vehicle.
Allure Care protection is automatically activated for 2 years or 25,000 km after each maintenance intervention performed at the Peugeot network. This means that in order to have the warranty, compliance with the maintenance program is rightly required with a minimum of 6 services in 160,000 km and at least every 2 years.
Phil York, Director of Marketing and Communications at PEUGEOT: “We believe PEUGEOT Allure Care will accelerate the adoption of the latest generation of 100% electric PEUGEOT vehicles, giving customers the peace of mind they need to take this step. This exceptionally broad coverage is a testament to the confidence we have in the quality and reliability of our products.”
Peugeot voice assistant with ChatGPT
The well-known artificial intelligence model ChatGPT it is integrated into the PEUGEOT i-Cockpit and becomes a real partner through the OK PEUGEOT voice assistant. This assistant is able to answer various questions and fulfill requests on a wide range of topics. Once activated, just express your request to receive exhaustive responses from ChatGPT. Among its capabilities, generative AI can provide specific guidance, such as making suggestions places to visit in a city, present them and guide you through the navigation system. Furthermore, it can also enrich the travel experience by interacting with vehicle occupants and stimulating creativity.
Peugeot will introduce this technology across its range of passenger and commercial vehicles in 2024 (in 5 pilot markets before a wider rollout from the second half of 2024).
Circular economy, Stellantis solutions in the Peugeot future
Peugeot's e-Lion project includes the creation of an ecosystem based on Stellantis solutions, focused on the circular economy with “4R”: Regeneration, Repair, Reuse and Recycling. Peugeot contributes to this approach by using fewer materials, increasing longevity and promoting recycling. For example, the new Peugeot E-3008 is made for the 23% from recycled materials.
In this regard Stellantis has created Sustainera Valorauto, a joint venture with Galloo, to manage end-of-life vehicle recycling in Europe. Sustainera Valorauto offers a complete solution that includes the collection, dismantling, recovery and recycling of materials.
A joint venture with Not now is dedicated to recycling of electric car batteries in Europe and North America, using low-carbon technology. Furthermore, among the Stellantis actions to promote the circular economy there is battery repair.
Facilitated accessibility to electricity, autonomy, purchase and charging
Peugeot's objective is to facilitate accessibility to zero-emission mobility throughout its 100% electric range essentially with 3 targeted actions: greater vehicle autonomy, purchasing and charging facilities. The “PEUGEOT Personalized Leasing” offer adapts to the mileage driven and is chosen by almost one in five E-208 customers in France. The PEUGEOT E-208 is part of the French government's “My Electric Lease” plan, offering rates starting from 99 euros per month, making electric mobility accessible to all families and younger generations.
In terms of greater autonomy, there is the PEUGEOT E-3008 which boasts up to 700 km and the PEUGEOT E-208 up to 550 km. On the sore point of charging costs at public charging stations, Peugeot makes life easier for electric users with Free2MoveCharge: PEUGEOT customers have access to an extensive charging network in Europe, with more than 600,000 points, including more than 77,000 fast charging stations that allow you to charge 100 kilometers of range in just 10 minutes with the PEUGEOT E-3008.
Jérôme Micheron, Product Director of PEUGEOT: “Our models are not only affordable (e.g. Peugeot As You Go Financing solutions), but are also the most efficient in their segments. For example, the PEUGEOT E-308 has the lowest energy consumption in its category.”
Actions for environmental protection
In its sustainability strategy, Peugeot also promotes actions for environmental protection. In fact, in the spring of 2023 the brand started a partnership with the French association Under The Poleaimed at raising awareness of the challenges of ocean conservation.
The vehicles Peugeot Boxer they were used to transport equipment on expeditions and tow the Under The Pole educational caravan across France for ocean awareness actions.
In 2024, Peugeot announces a second partnership with the British charity Born Freewhich is committed to the protection of wildlife engaging, educating and empowering local communities in Kenya and in other countries around the world.
Linda Jackson, CEO of PEUGEOT: “Today more than ever, a brand like PEUGEOT must contribute to a more responsible and sustainable world for future generations. We are on track to reach our Carbon Net Zero goal, but there are several ways to get there. I am convinced that TRAINING is one of the keys to a more sustainable world and this is why we want to make our contribution.”
