All the vehicles found inside 400 containers had been stolen in Canada, almost all of them high-performance, large-engined cars, almost new and, as specified by the authorities, “belonging to big brands”. The models were not specified but given the information released it is easy to think what type of cars these are. Thanks to the support of the “Royal Canadian Mounted Police” at the Canadian Embassy, the State Police and other law enforcement agencies and authorities began investigations starting last September, with thorough checks on 18 cargo ships which led to the light on the 251 stolen cars, loaded on board with counterfeit documents that almost perfectly reproduced the original ones.
