Editorial | Finland has its responsibility in NATO's nuclear deterrent

Nuclear weapons are a key part of NATO's security guarantees, and keeping them strong is also in Finland's interest.

Pthe debate on nuclear weapons in the resident election exams shows that all candidates are strongly committed to Finland's NATO membership. At the same time, however, the discussions also show that nuclear deterrence is not yet part of the everyday life of Finland's foreign and security policy. There is enough for everyone to learn, and that is why the discussion, even during the elections, has remained limited.
