Vlahovic knocks out Lecce: Juventus overtakes Inter
Overtaking operation completed: Juventus at the top of the Serie A table after the 3- on the Lecce pitch. The Bianconeri are +1 behind Inter, taking advantage of the Nerazzurri's commitment to the Super Cup which led to the postponement of the San Siro match against Atalanta (which will be resumed on Wednesday 28 February at 8.45pm). Balanced first half at the Via del Mare stadium with a save by Krstovic following a header by McKennie. In the second half Juve spread thanks to a brace from Vlahovic (59' and 68') and a header from Bremer (85') at the end.
Juventus leads the league with a brace from Vlahovic and a goal from Bremer, with Lecce finishing 3-0. The news
Juventus jumped to the top of the table by beating Lecce 3-0 at Via del Mare, a brace from Vlahovic and the match closed by Bremer in the 85th minute: a combative Lecce was unable to contain the Bianconeri. In the first minute Vlahovic kicks out a good pass from Gatti, Lecce responds in the fifth minute with Krstovic and this too goes out. In the 11th minute McKennie heads over and Krstovic saves, a minute later Vlahovic serves Kostic, a high shot. Lecce still dangerous with Krstovic in the 15th minute after a low shot from Oudin, this ball also goes high. The twenty-second minute sees a fair yellow for McKennie for simulating a foul. In the 34th minute Oudin tries a shot from outside the area, Szczesny blocks.
In the second half Almqvist was brought down in the area but according to the referee it wasn't a penalty and we continued. In the 50th minute McKennie tries again but Falcone saves without difficulty. Two minutes later Kostic's cross on Vlahovic who dives with his head looking for the corner of Lecce's goal, the imprecise shot goes out to the left. In the 55th minute Szczesny intercepted a dangerous through ball from Krstovic from the left and thwarted the attempt.
The game breaks the deadlock in the 59th minute after a lightning-fast counterattack by Juventus with McKennie setting up the action, Cambiaso's shot is intercepted by Falcone, the Juventus player insists but decides to let Vlahovic intervene: his left-footed bounce on the ground raises a lob that enter the network.
Juventus's second goal came in the 68th minute with a great volley from McKennie who directed it towards the goal but not too precisely, but the ball was corrected by Vlahovic who was lurking and directed it into the net with his right foot. The match was finally closed with a header by Bremer in the 85th minute even with three minutes of injury time: Juventus leaders and the “short face” is a memory. Inter's next match in the league, which has one game less, is scheduled for January 28 against Fiorentina.
