One of these games was supposedly The Last of Us Factions II, which was canceled a few months ago. After this news, rumors began to circulate that other games as a service stopped production. Perhaps they realized that this approach was not appropriate.

But if its big bets are off, then what does PlayStation have left in the immediate future? Insomniac's next game, wolverine, has already been leaked with a premiere in 2026. But what about 2024 and 2025? There is a lot of uncertainty and nothing is done to calm the waters.

This year is finally the year

We already said it from the beginning of 2024, this year seems to be the one Phil Spencer predicted as the 'year of Xbox'. Just the four exclusive titles they showed in their live show is enough to get you excited. But they are also not the only ones who will arrive.

Why do we need PlayStation to respond to Xbox?

The main reason why PlayStation needs to respond to Xbox is competition. This impulse makes both of them work hard on their own creations to make them the best possible and attract the interest of the public.

Surely some fans are very happy and making fun of PlayStation and ensuring that it is nowhere near disappearing. But the reality is that it is in no one's interest if any of these companies disappear. Neither is perfect, but both have things to offer.

As long as there is this fear that a competitor will be better, there will be this drive.

Why do we want PlayStation alone to take over the entire video game market and raise prices to $100? Or that only Xbox exists and we totally depend on a subscription service to have new games? Only a very blinded fan would want this and that is why we need both of them to constantly put themselves in check.
