Fire started and spread through a dormitory with around 30 students; case is investigated by authorities
A fire at Yingcai School, a school in Nanyang, China, killed at least 13 children and left one injured on Friday night (19 January 2024). According to the Chinese state news agency Xinhua, the fire spread to a dormitory at the institution. At the time the flames started, around 30 students were in the room.
According to state media, the child who was injured was treated at a hospital. Your health condition is stable. There is still no forecast for the return of students to school. The fire is being investigated by authorities. The person responsible for the educational institution was taken by the police to give a statement.
