Extraordinary and versatile actress, Nathalie Poza (Madrid, 1972) has just released honeymoonwhere she plays a woman in the middle of a marital crisis who must repatriate the body of her son who died abroad.
In honeymoon plays one half of a crumbling marriage. What three adjectives would you describe the film with? No idea.
When did you know you would be an actress? I have always played at being someone else: the one in the book, the neighbor, Charles Manson or Liza Minnelli. So from always: this is not decided, this is given to you.
Are there days when you regret making this decision? No.
What is the best review you have received? I suppose it was from my father, who scolded me for asking him not to come see me perform at the Royal Theater, where I recited in French, and afterwards he was very proud: “Let this be the last time you tell me not to come.”
And the most devastating? That I couldn't be heard and that it was the first time I did professional theater (too much method and not enough technique, but it was very good for me, ha ha).
What role did you miss out on? Well, I haven't found out!
What is the movie you have seen the most times? I think that Postcards from the edge and The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
And one that reminds you of your childhood? Fantasy, ET and Grease… and childhood is over!
What actress would want to play her in a biopic about her life? How lazy a biopic is, not to mention.
A recent premiere that fascinated you? Fallen Leaves in Rhizome. She is wonderful.
Who are your three favorite playwrights? Tennessee Williams, Chekhov and Lorca.
What is the last play or dance piece that you liked? Who killed my father, by Ivo Van Hove.
Name your three favorite series of all time. The Sopranos, The Office and Return to Brideshead.
What book do you have on your nightstand right now? I have several, but the latest from Rick Rubin.
And one that he couldn't finish? It's hard for me to finish Hope in the darkness, by Rebecca Solnit. As things stand it is difficult to believe that we are taking so many steps back with what it has cost to get here.
A musician you particularly admire? Moby and Pussy Riot.
What song is playing on loop in your head right now? Riverby Joni Mitchell.
In which museum would you stay to live? At the Rodin Museum in Paris.
Do you have any cultural guilty pleasures? Blackout, by Britney Spears among thousands of others. But nothing guilty, the ass face of a DJ when you asked Madonna was very snob: eclecticism up.
What job would you never accept? I wouldn't work in a slaughterhouse or animal testing laboratory unless I wanted to infiltrate or break down the walls so people could see what was going on inside.
What is socially overrated? Without a doubt Twitter. As Ricky Gervais says, it's like reading the walls of a public urinal.
What is your favorite historical event? There is no favorite event as long as children continue to be massacred in Gaza.
If she were not an actress, she would have liked to be… Music or working with animals. But I play the piano for my cats, so I'm not doing bad…
