Caixa Econômica Federal should publish in the next 30 days a public competition notice with more than 4000 vacancies, half of which will be in the technology area. The objective is to boost the digitalization and modernization of the state bank's operations.
Digitalization is one of the fronts that the bank's president, Carlos Vieira, wants to accelerate in his management. After taking office in November, in December he disclosed to employees guidelines from the bank's strategic plan that included improving online service and contracting products such as real estate credit through digital channels, as shown by Broadcast, a timely news system of Grupo Estado.

The other 2,000 vacancies will be for what Caixa calls “savings”, employees who work in banking operations, such as in the customer service network, for example. The opening of a new competition had been demanded internally, given the reduction in Caixa's contingent in recent years.
Vieira's plan includes improving service through the physical network. The executive told reporters in December that Caixa's face-to-face structure should not shrink, but that it should be rebalanced, with a better distribution of branches and service points across the country.
In parallel with the opening of the competition, the public bank will open a new Voluntary Dismissal Program (PDV), focused on employees with longer tenure. Up to 3,200 subscriptions will be accepted. Registration should also open over the next month.
Both the opening of the competition and the PDV were approved by Caixa's board of directors on Thursday, 11.
In September last year, Caixa had 87,053 employees, which meant 158 fewer positions than in the same month of 2022. The branch network was 3,371, one less than in the previous year.
