In April of last year, Jonathan Major, an actor who played Kang In the MCU, he was arrested after being accused of violence and physical assault against his then partner, Grace Jabbari. In this way, in December 2023 a trial was held that, after two weeks, declared Major guilty. Now, The actor has finally shown his face after this conflict in a program, where he has declared his innocence.
Recently, Major participated on Good Morning America, where he had the opportunity to speak about his trial, and He stated that he is innocent. The actor denied having committed this crime, expressing himself completely bewildered and terrified by the verdict against him, stating that he had never physically attacked his ex-partner. This is what he commented:
“I stood there and the verdict came. I thought how is this possible? Based on the evidence, theirs and ours, how was this possible? That did not happen. I wish I knew how he got hurt, it would give us clarity and give me peace. I was careless with his heart, not his body. “I have never hit a woman.”
At the time, Grace Jabbari reported several injuries after an encounter with the actor. Along with this, she pointed out a history of violence and psychological and emotional manipulation that she experienced during her relationship with Majors. Thus, The actor was charged with two counts of physical assault and violence after a fight with his partner. Although this conflict already has a result, the punishment that will be imposed on Kang's former person remains to be known.
On February 6, a judge will sentence Jonathan Majors, who could serve up to a year in prison, or be released on parole. However, this has not been all, since Disney and Marvel Studios have ended their relationship with the actor. This means that the MCU has been left without an actor for the role of Kang.
Although there is a possibility that this role is in the hands of another actor, previous reports have indicated that Marvel Studios already had the intention of eliminating, or at least, reducing the role of this character. Thus, Majors' farewell could have put a definitive end to this character, at least until now. On related topics, you can learn more about the actor's trial here.
