Record employment in November: +520 thousand places in one year
Istat data on employment contradict the owls. In fact, with the government of Giorgia Meloni, there was an increase in the number of workers. In November 2023, the employment rate remained unchanged at 61.8%, the unemployment rate fell to 7.5%, while the inactivity rate grew to 33.1%. This was communicated by Istat, specifying that compared to the previous month the number of employed and inactive people increased, while the number of unemployed decreased.
The unemployment rate in October was 7.7%. The number of employed people – equal to 23 million 743 thousand – is overall higher than that of November 2022 by 520 thousand units, which corresponds to an increase of 551 thousand permanent employees and 26 thousand self-employed workers while the number of fixed-term employees is 57 thousand lower unit.

In November the number of employed rose to a new record at 23,743,000 units with 30 thousand units more than in October. This was communicated by Istat, specifying that in October there were 23,712,000 employed. The number of employed people in November was also 520 thousand higher than a year earlier
