“President Daniel Noboa: have our complete unrestricted support. Please don't give in”. With that message, The former president of Ecuador Rafael Correa spoke this Tuesday about the current security crisis that the neighboring country is experiencing.

Through his account on the social network “they declared war on the State” and calls for “national unity” in the country.
“Today is time for National unity. Organized crime has declared war on the State, and the State must prevail (…). We will discuss our political differences the day after the victory.a”, Correa added in his message.

The former president, who has been in Belgium since 2017 after that country granted him asylum, described the recent acts of violence in Ecuador as “nightmare” moments. “The country is experiencing something unthinkable, unimaginable (…) The country is experiencing a true nightmare.”
Correa's call comes just when the country is experiencing moments of great tension due to the explosion of cars in different cities, attacks with explosives, kidnappings of police officers, retention of agents in penitentiary centers, and the emergence of armed men on a television channel and some commercial establishments.
After this turbulent day, Noboa recognized that in Ecuador there is “an internal armed conflict” and ordered the Armed Forces to carry out military actions to restore order in the country.
