They are all dismayed at the Manzoni middle school in Reggio Emilia. On the morning of Monday 8 January 2023, upon returning from the Christmas holidays, a 13-year-old boy lost his life due to an illness that left him with no escape.
It was almost 8 in the morning and the bell was calling all the students to class. Almost all of his companions were already at the counter. The 13 year old boy entered school and was climbing the stairs to reach them, but an illness stopped him first.
According to what was told by the school staff who was present at the time, the little boy felt bad and collapsed to the ground. The call to 118 was immediate, but the rescuers' attempts to resuscitate him were in vain.
Health workers immediately transferred him to the Santa Maria Nuova hospital in Reggio Emilia. The doctors, however, could not help but confirm his death. Apparently he didn't have no previous pathology.
