Ras Al Khaimah Courts revealed that the number of marriage contracts registered in the emirate during the year 2023 reached 1,051 marriage contracts, compared to 983 contracts in 2022, an increase of 68 marriage contracts.
The head of Ras Al Khaimah Courts, Counselor Ahmed Mohammed Al Khatri, said that according to the statistical data of the Department’s Marriage Contracts Section, the largest share of marriage contracts concluded between a citizen husband and a citizen wife was recorded at 648 marriage cases, a rate of 61.65% of the total registered marriage cases, followed by contracts. Marriage between non-Emirati couples, with 251 contracts, in addition to other separate marriages, with 152 marriages.
Al Khatri pointed out that the number of marriage contracts between citizens increased during the past year by 10.76%, an increase of 63 contracts, compared to the same period in 2022, and according to the data, the month of March recorded the highest number of marriage contracts during the year, which amounted to 104 contracts.
Al Khatri said that Ras Al Khaimah’s courts currently have 33 certified legal officials who undertake the tasks of concluding and documenting marriage contracts in the emirate, and they are distributed among the geographical areas specified for them in the emirate, including 16 authorized persons authorized to marry citizens and residents of different nationalities, and 17 authorized to marry citizens only.
