A car crashed into the White House fence in Washington DC
In Washington, a car crashed into the gates of the White House. This was announced by the official representative of the US Secret Service, Anthony Guglielmi, on the social network. X.
According to him, the incident occurred on the evening of January 8 at about 18:00 (02:00 January 9 Moscow time). The vehicle rammed the outer gate of the White House complex. Guglielmi noted that the driver was detained. The police are currently trying to find out what caused the accident.
This is not the first time a vehicle has crashed into the fence near the White House. In May 2023, a truck crashed into security barriers around Lafayette Square across the street from the White House. No one was injured as a result of the incident. As Guglielmi noted, a preliminary investigation showed that the driver may have intentionally crashed into the barriers.
