This Tuesday, the National Government called a special summit on different fronts to manage the strategy to present to Panam Sports and try to recover the headquarters for Barranquilla.
One of the parties summoned to the summit is the mayor of Barranquilla. Therefore, the mayor Alejandro Char He is very optimistic about being able to achieve the goal.
Char gave statements this Monday in Barranquilla, anticipating what this decisive meeting will be for the country in search of the headquarters.
“It is a job that has to be done every day. That also means having the resources, having the intention to work. I believe we are achieving it, although a few days ago we saw everything lost.”said the district president, in statements published by the Herald.
He also referred to the support of Luis Alberto Moreno, former president of the IDB, who has joined this cause: “He recommends that we team up, show true intentions. Tomorrow (Tuesday) we are going to Bogotá, to team up with the national government,” he said.
He added that “it is what needs to be done, it is what was missing and we are demonstrating it. So we are working for that, because Panama Sports “It is asking for more commitment.”
“I do feel that we are interested, what we needed was to unite and show ourselves as a team. The idea is that we reconfirm why we were selected to show it to the February meeting, that we are ready and have the financial disposition,” he said.
The summit will be attended by other Government representatives such as Laura SabariaThe chancellor Alvaro Leyva and the Minister of Sports Astrid Rodriguez.
