ASUS announces the new Zephyrus G14 and G16 with ROG Nebula displays

Today ASUS presented a dense list of products ROG: devices and peripherals designed for gaming. During the CES 2024 which will be held in Las Vegas as usual it was reasonable to expect that the company would present itself with many new features and our expectations were not disappointed.

In this news we will tell you about the new ROG laptops, lo Zephyrus G14 and G16, completely aesthetically redesigned with a CNC aluminum chassis and a new lighting system. The innovations, however, are not only concentrated on the outside and important changes also concern the components inside the body, such as the display and the cooling system.

Revolutionized aesthetics

Starting from the outside, the 2024 Zephyrus G14 and Zephyrus G16 models feature a new CNC machined aluminum chassis, which increases its structural rigidity but at the same time reduces its weight, also increasing the space of the frame. The latter in particular meant that ASUS could install larger and more powerful speakers with a bass response down to 100 Hz.

The 2024 Zephyrus G14 and G16 models also feature an all-new LED lighting system, an array of Slash lighting customizable that follows a diagonal across the top of the laptops, with animated sequences and full customization. The Zephyrus G14 is 1.59cm thick and weighs just 1.5kg, while the larger Zephyrus G16 is 1.49cm thick and weighs just 1.85kg.

Cutting-edge components

The new Zephyrus are designed to fully embrace artificial intelligence, thanks to the processors AMD Ryzen 8000 series with support for AMD Ryzen AI. The Zephyrus G14 comes with support for productivity tools Windows Studio Effects, such as automatic framing, eye contact correction and advanced background effects in video calls. The Zephyrus G14 is also equipped with a NVIDIA GeForce RTX GPU up to 4070 Laptop, with access to advanced features like DLSS 3.5, Frame Generation and Ray Reconstruction to improve visuals and game responsiveness in the most demanding titles. Zephyrus G16 on the other hand, is equipped with a processor Intel Core Ultra 9 185H with 11 TOPS of AI computing power, plus a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU to achieve exceptional performance.

Added to this already large package is the arrival of the ROG Nebula Display OLED displays with 2.5K resolution. The main features are an aspect ratio of 16:10, VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 and a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1, capable of making HDR content shine. The displays also boast 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space and Delta E accuracy of less than 1; in the gaming field, however, we find a response time of 0.2 ms.

Finally, the new Zephyrus boast a new hyper-efficient cooling system thanks to Intelligent Cooling improvements. The high-performance liquid metal thermal compound on the CPU and the introduction of three second generation Arc Flow fans allow heat to escape efficiently from the chassis. Zephyrus G16 models equipped with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 Laptop or NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU instead feature a custom vapor chamber that uses two fans to cool the flagship hardware.
