The minister of the STF (Supreme Federal Court) André Mendonça said during a documentary about the 8th of January that “Never” feared for Brazil's democracy.
“Which does not mean seriousness, which does not mean that it should be accepted, that it should be tolerated”, said the minister. He was nominated to the Supreme Court by former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL).

The film's trailer was shown this Monday (January 8, 2024) during the opening of the exhibition “After January 8: Reconstruction, memory and democracy”, promoted by the STF. The documentary retraces the events of that day and shows testimony from the Court's ministers.
In their speeches, the ministers spoke about the importance of democracy, the negative impact that January 8th had on the history of Brazil and the importance of preserving collective memory.
