Steel cable on the street in Milan, one of Baiocco's accomplices turns himself in: “I could no longer hold this weight”
18-year-old Michele Di Rosa, one of the boys accused of having stretched a steel cable in Viale Toscana, in Milan, turned himself in. He is the second member of the group to be stopped after the arrest of 24-year-old Alex Baiocco on the night between Wednesday and Thursday. However, the search continues for a third boy who ran away: he appears to be a minor.
Di Rosa showed up at the police station at half past ten on the evening of Saturday 6 January together with his father and his lawyer. “I could no longer carry this weight, I talked about it with my family and I decided to take on my responsibilities”, the words reported by Corriere della Sera.
The young man was transferred to the Monza Army barracks where he was arrested by the judicial police for a road block. the prosecutor, who initially had hypothesized the crime of attempted massacre for Baiocco, aligned himself with the assessment of the investigating judge who over the weekend reduced the hypotheses of crime against the 24-year-old and ordered precautionary custody in prison only for suspension aggravated traffic.
“I guarantee that the boy really decided to assume his responsibilities, and that he never reduced the fact under investigation to a 'stunt' or a 'nonsense', his is a serious repentance, not a superficial one: in this sense the confrontation at home with his parents, the first ones he confided in, was decisive,” said lawyer Gaetano Giamboi, Di Rosa's lawyer. While awaiting the hearing to validate his arrest, the 18-year-old is being held in Monza prison due to the risk of repeating the crime.
