The man's name was Alessio Anzaldi, he had 47 years old and had a very important past in Florentine and Tuscan rugby.
Shortly before the Christmas holidays he had accused gods flu symptoms which had forced him to call the emergency medical service.
The symptoms are got worse as the days went by, so much so that hospitalization was necessary in the department resuscitation of the Borgo San Lorenzo hospital.
There the doctors tried in every way to save him from what turned out to be a bronchopneumoniabut last Friday they had to give up and declare his death.
There mothera woman of 66 years oldhaving learned the news, he accused a illness and hospitalization was necessary for her too. A few hours later she accused a heart attack which she was unable to overcome.

After a short illness, Alessio Anzaldi passed away from the affection of his loved ones. Born in 1977, he began his rugby career in the ITI Leonardo da Vinci team and subsequently wore the CUS Firenze Rugby shirt, playing as a prop in the promotion team to Serie A at the end of the 90s and then moving on to Sesto Rugby. Together with his former teammates and their clubs, the presidents of Firenze Rugby 1931 Stefano di Puccio and the Unione Rugby Firenze Andrea Vannucci fondly remember Alessio. As a farewell to Alessio Anzaldi, the body is exhibited in the OFISA chapels in via delle Panche in Florence.
The joint funeral of mother and son will be held tomorrow at the church of Santa Croce a Quinto in Sesto Fiorentino.
