When Itziar Castro entered Vis a vis, in its third season, the series had already introduced us to a good collection of terrifying characters. There were Zulema, Anabel and many others, a string of prisoners as threatening as they were charismatic, played by a group of wonderful actresses – and some no less terrifying officials like Palacios and Sandoval. Faced with the challenge of joining a more than consolidated cast, Itziar more than fulfilled.
Although he already had a long career playing episodic characters and had had an impact thanks to SkinsEdu Casanova’s first feature, was in Vis a vis where Itziar enjoyed his first long-running television character. And where the spectators could enjoy it with her. And when I say enjoy I mean suffer because of Goya, the villain I played. So much so that, for example, while we were writing the third season of Ladies of (h)AMPA, We thought of her for another horror character, one of those who stayed in the role because the season was never produced.
Castro said that for that character he had been inspired by Charlize Theron’s interpretation of the assassin Aileen Wuornos in Monster. “Goya entered prison at a very young age and has become an adult there, where she discovers that, with her physique, she can be respected. “She is one of the few prisoners that no one messes with,” she explained in an interview.
Itziar, when treated, could instill anything but terror; She was loving, tireless, passionate. A few hours after her death, in addition to the desolation of so many of her friends, we have been able to see how a good handful of undesirables, regulars at the I told you, they pass sentence on his death. I wish to those, who do not understand respect, decorum, or life, Itziar had given them the fear that Goya did.
