Former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) reported this Friday morning (20) that he was invited to the inauguration of Javier Milei, who was elected president of Argentina this Sunday (20). The inauguration will take place on December 10th in Buenos Aires, the country’s capital. The invitation occurred in a video call made by the newly elected libertarian to the former Brazilian president.
“I now received a call from Javier Milei, where I congratulated him on his victory, as well as being invited to his inauguration. Today Argentina represents a lot for all those who love democracy and breathe freedom”, said Bolsonaro on social media shortly before 11 am.
During the call, Bolsonaro told Milei that the newly elected’s work will go “outside Argentina. “You represent a lot to us Democrats, who are freedom lovers. You represent a lot to Brazil and rest assured that everything I can do for you I will be at your disposal”, said Bolsonaro.
The former president recorded a video of the call (watch below), which included the participation of his son, federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP).
On Sunday night, after the results of the polls, Bolsonaro had celebrated the libertarian’s victory on social media: “Congratulations to the Argentine people on the victory with Milei. Hope shines again in South America. May these good winds reach the United States and Brazil so that honesty, progress and freedom return to all of us”.
