He President Andrés Manuel López Obrador yesterday celebrated the executive order of his American counterpart Joe Biden, aimed at reinforcing the measures for the sale of arms in that country, and affirmed that with USA there is mutual aid and cooperation, but not subordination in the fight against crime.
“We are going to continue helping and cooperating with the United States, but not subordinates,” he clarified at the National Palace.
He assured that the US has not achieved results in anti-drug matters, for which he urged to rethink the strategy.
“Of course, in the concert of nations, we have to help each other, but not submit, let alone failed strategies. How are we going to let the DEA manage security in Mexico if they have shown that they cannot? or have there been good results in USA As for the fight against drugs? No!” she asserted.
Lopez Obrador He also appreciated that Biden has issued a resolution for better control of arms sales, “something that I celebrate and how good that he did, that he carried out this action.”

“There they buy them without any control, it’s a great business and also for USA Why don’t they control, especially the sale of high-powered weapons? What do they do with it? 80 percent of the weapons used here by criminal organizations, the high-powered ones, come from the United States and there is no control,” López Obrador warned.
He Chancellor Marcelo Ebrard assured that Mexico it does not need US agencies to come to work in the country, but requires that weapons no longer be illegally shipped from its territory.
“We don’t need Colombia plans, we don’t need them to send anyone, or send weapons; it’s better if they don’t send weapons, that would be what Mexico I would need: that they not send any weapons from the United States and with that we would have to quickly reduce the violence in Mexico and defeat all the criminal organizations,” he said.
Ebrard also said that he views the executive order issued by Biden to increase regulations on the purchase of firearms very well.
assured that Mexico is working with US to reduce fentanyl trafficking and that this information is what the Mexican consulates in the neighboring country are going to disseminate.
