Sony Playstation may have given the green light to the reboot of the Uncharted seriesentrusting the development to one different studio than Naughty Dog. Or at least this is what a report published by the Theleak.co portal and also shared on the pages of Insider Gaming by Tom Henderson says.
According to two different anonymous sources of the magazine, Sony apparently made the decision to reset the series at the beginning of the year before entrusting the reins to one “unknown developer”, with Naughty Dog initially assisting the new team. No further details have been shared at this time.
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End came out in 2016 and basically concluded the adventures of Nathan Drake. From this point of view, a new game in the series would be forced, unless you put secondary characters in the foreground, as happened with The Lost Legacy starring Chloe Frazer.
From this assumption, the idea of a reboot with a renewed version of Nathan Drake could make sense to continue churning out games in the series. With an article on Insider Gaming, the well-known insider Tom Henderson, while unable to corroborate TheLeak.co’s information, said he too had heard rumors in the past about new projects related to the Uncharted series. In any case, we specify that at the moment we are talking about simple indiscretions without official confirmations, so take them with a grain of salt.
