It is a single dose that includes three different medications. Researchers developed a single-dose pill for secondary prevention of cardiovascular death and complications after nonfatal myocardial infarction. The drug reduced the risk of cardiovascular deaths by 33% and the risk of new diseases, such as stroke, by 24%. The pill is already marketed in 25 countries and seeks to reach those patients in impoverished nations that do not have access to a large number of medications to treat these ailments, which could be treated with a single drug, thus lowering their cost.
