The education union calls for a return to 11 p.m. in Infant and Primary and 6 p.m. in Secondary and the reduction of student-teacher ratios, among other measures
The ANPE teaching union held a rally this Friday at the door of the Ministry of Education for the “dignification of public schools and the reversal of cuts in education that continue to persist in the centers of the Region of Murcia” and called all teachers to the mobilization. The organization once again denounced “the working conditions of teachers, urgently demanding more investment, in order to improve the quality of teaching in our school population.”
ANPE demands the return at 11 p.m. in Infant and Primary and 6 p.m. in Secondary and other Bodies; the reduction of student-teacher ratios; a better provision of teaching staff to the centers, increasing the templates, covering casualties on a daily basis and attending to requests for splitting; an increase in the number of professionals at the service of Guidance.
In addition, from the union they request wide offers of public employment that reduce the interim rate to a minimum, making interim teachers functional; the second section of the Professional Career, fulfilling the agreement signed by ANPE with the Ministry of Finance; a greater integration of the Technical Teachers of FP in Secondary; recover the time reduction as a right for teachers over 55 years of age, and the consolidation and stabilization of their jobs for teaching staff and Religion teachers.
ANPE calls for mobilization, in addition, for “the recovery of teaching purchasing power, as well as to demand that the arrears owed to teachers for years be paid, as well as the mileage of teachers and professors who carry out itinerancies in their workday”.
The union denounces that “Murcian teachers welcome students in their classrooms with ratios that exceed what is currently included in the law, and continue to work more hours than other teachers in other communities.” “This situation has been producing widespread fatigue and discontent for years, which has also been exacerbated by the pandemic in education,” they criticize.
ANPE «continues to serve all teachers in the Region of Murcia in an incessant struggle to improve the working conditions of teachers, and at the end of the year it wants to call for mobilization demanding that the Ministry is necessary and the investment in Education to improve educational quality in public centers in the Community».
