HE fires lumberyard and causes the eviction of 80 inhabitants of 32 houses in the La Floresta neighborhood of Vallarta Port.
The fire started from 7:00 a.m. today, Wednesday, June 12, until 6:00 p.m. Firefighters are still continuing with the cooling work, confirmed Commander César Zamora of the Puerto Vallarta Fire Department.
The lumber yard is located at the intersection of Sinaloa and 16 de Septiembre streets, the preliminary amount of the loss amounts to 3 million pesos.
The fire spread to such an extent that the street of five houses was damaged. So far no injuries have been reported but firefighters have had to fight the mishap in shifts to stay hydrated.
It should be noted that at 6:00 p.m. the inhabitants of the houses surrounding the lumber yard had already returned out of danger.
