More than 1,100 male and female swimmers, representing 77 teams from 23 countries, participated in the Dubai Swimming Championship, at the Hamdan Sports Complex in Dubai. It lasted for 3 days, during which strong competitions were witnessed between swimmers of different age groups.
The championship competitions included 50, 100, and 200 meter races for all types of breaststroke, back, freestyle, and others. Also, 200 and 400 meter races were held for the individual medley category, and 400, 800, and 1,500 meter races were held for freestyle swimming.
Prizes and cups were distributed to the winners and winners in various categories, namely Best Club, Best Swimmer, and Best Swimmer, and in the Youth Championship categories, Best Club, Best Young Swimmer, and Best Young Swimmer.
The Hamdan Sports Complex in Dubai is one of the most important major sports facilities in the country, as it was built according to the latest international specifications in 2010, so it is considered a wonderful architectural masterpiece, which has received praise from many international federations and delegations. It is the largest center for water sports in the world, as it is held on an area “56,031 2”, which is the most advanced in the world from a technical standpoint, as it includes a 50-meter swimming pool, a 25-meter diving pool, and a 50-meter warm-up and training pool, which conform to Olympic standards and can be transformed into a platform for sports competitions, such as karate, basketball, and others. It was designed The main hall's seats are shaped like a horseshoe and can accommodate about 15,000 spectators.
The Hamdan Sports Complex has become a favorite destination for many international teams and Olympic champions of various nationalities and all sports to hold successful camps that resulted in a number of them winning Olympic medals, as the complex attracts tens of thousands of athletes, including winners of three gold medals and five silver medals in Olympic tournaments. They are led by South African swimmer Chad Le Clos, Japanese swimmer Rei Kanto, and Danish badminton champion Viktor Axelsen, as well as winners of nine gold medals in world championships, three silvers and a bronze, led by French diving star Gary Hunt, Russian synchronized swimming star Anastasia Akhibovskaya, and many other stars.
