War protests in Russia: hackers spread anti-Putin message
+++ 4.40 p.m.: Opponents of the Ukraine war have now targeted the Kremlin’s propaganda machine. The state-owned news agency Tass and other news portals from Russia were hacked on Monday (February 28, 2022), as reported by the US news portal The Daily Beast. Instead of pro-Russian information, readers expected anti-war news there.
“Dear citizens. We urge you to stop this madness, do not send your sons and husbands to certain death. Putin makes us lie and puts us in danger,” the hackers’ message read on Tass. In addition, opponents of the Ukraine war warned that they will “live like in North Korea in a few years”. The message was drawn with “Journalists from Russia”, with an additional anonymous symbol. The website has since been taken offline.

Ukraine war: Russia admits dead and injured for the first time
Four days after the invasion of Ukraine, Russia acknowledged dead and injured in its own ranks for the first time on Sunday. However, the spokesman for the Defense Ministry, Igor Konashenkov, did not give any figures. “The Russian military are showing courage in their combat missions (…) Unfortunately, there are dead and injured,” said the ministry spokesman on state television. However, Russian losses in the Ukraine war are “much lower” than those on the Ukrainian side, he added, according to AFP. (slo/vbu/AFP) *fr.de is an offer from IPPEN.MEDIA.
