60 participants compete in the “Sharjah International Paragliding”

The Sharjah Paragliding Championship returns again, after a hiatus for several years due to the Corona pandemic, as the fourth edition begins “Friday” in the Jabal Al Faya region, and continues for 3 days, with the participation of 60 pilots from 20 countries, and the tournament witnesses the participation of the female component in the competitions for the first time.
The organizing committee revealed the details of the event, which is being held under the auspices of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Council, during the press conference held at the headquarters of the Sharjah Sports Council. Air Force, Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee of the Championship, Youssef Hassan Al Hammadi, Vice President of the Federation, Director of the Supreme Organizing Committee, Muhammad Youssef Al Mazmi, Secretary General of the Federation, Deputy Director of the Supreme Organizing Committee, and Obaid Al Mansouri, Director of the Championship.
Issa Hilal Al-Hazami confirmed that the fourth edition will witness a remarkable development in quantity and quality, and we are happy with the return of the championship competitions.
Nasr Al Neyadi extended his thanks and gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Executive Council, for his generous patronage and generous guidance to all bodies to support and make the tournament a success. Hilal Al-Hazami, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council, has supported the championship since its birth 4 years ago.
Youssef Hassan Al Hammadi said: We hope to achieve the lofty goals for which the championship was established, especially as it is held in the most beautiful location witnessed by the paragliding championships, “Al Faya Mountains”, which embodies the charming nature of the Emirate of Sharjah, and we hope to add new successes to the championship, which is entering its fourth edition.
Mohamed Youssef, Secretary-General of the Federation, confirmed that this year’s edition is witnessing the participation of the female component, and that the number of participants and the number of countries has increased significantly, due to the splendor of the place and the wonderful weather of the Emirates, hoping that everyone will live up to their expectations.
Obaid Al-Mansoori, tournament director, addressed the technical and organizational aspects, pointing out that the opening of registration began on the fifth of last December, when all those who met the conditions of both sexes were registered, noting that the tournament will start “Friday”, and it will last for three days, and there is an alternative plan if The wind speed increased.
