According to the Ministry of Health and Community Protection, the national strategy to enhance the governance of the nursing and midwifery professions seeks, through professional regulatory policies and practices, to contribute to achieving sustainable development goals, and to plan and manage the workforce of nurses and midwives, in terms of attraction and retention in the profession, in response to the health needs and priorities of the country.
She pointed out that the nursing program launched by the Ministry provides scholarships for citizens of high school graduates who wish to complete their university studies in the field of nursing. The Ministry stated that the program selects qualified students and sends them to one of the universities that provides a bachelor’s degree in nursing program in the country, so that the scholarship covers the costs of the student’s tuition fees, housing and transportation, in addition to a monthly cash allowance for each student. She explained that the admission standards and requirements include that the student be a citizen of the UAE, and that he must pass the high school stage with a grade of 70% in the advanced section, or 75% in the general section, provided that the student is appointed directly after graduation in one of the health institutions affiliated with the Ministry, with the provision of The opportunity to obtain a scholarship to study a master’s and doctorate in nursing inside or outside the country.
