A few hours after the conclusion of the Hyperpole, which decreed the pole position of Kevin Estre at the wheel of Porsche Penske #6, the racing program was definitively closed. Free tests of the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2024 with the holding of the fourth and final session. Two hours of activity on the track from 10pm to midnight which, unlike the previous tests, also took place under the rain in the finale, but also in this case with the Toyota #8 hero.
The Japanese manufacturer, which had finished in the lead in all free practice with Buemi (with the exception of FP3), also repeated itself in FP4, in this case with the best time Brendon Hartley in 3:29.451. A performance slightly superior to that of the Ferrari #50, with the Red one just 76 thousandths behind. However, in the final 30 minutes, the first drops of rain fell on the Circuit de la Sarthe, with all cars completing their first laps in wet track conditions. The only exception will be for the Porsche #12 of the Jota teamwhich obtained authorization to carry out a half-hour shakedown at the airport to try to repair the 963 following Callum Ilott’s accident during FP2.
