New rules in sight
In recent weeks the MotoGP has been dividing itself between the present and the future. As the 2024 season continues, more balanced and spectacular than ever, many in the paddock are already thinking about the new regulations 2027 recently published by MotoGP.
Among the most talked about topics is naturally that oflowering of the displacementwith engines that they will go from the current 1000cc to 850cc. The choice was made to achieve a decrease in the top speeds of the premier class racing cars, with the aim of making the sport safer and more sustainable.
Pecco’s doubts
Some doubts in this regard were expressed by the current world champion, Pecco Bagnaiawho expressed some reservations about the reduction in displacement decided for 2027: “I think little about regulations. I’ve been thinking about it these days – declared a Sky Sports MotoGP – but in the end the best thing is to spend these years trying to always be the strongest, even when things change. We are certainly at the peak of our sport, in the prototypes, and reducing performance is something I’m not crazy about, as an idea. But if they thought it was better to reduce performance, it means it’s better this way.”finished #1.
