Ryanair has celebrated that a Maltese court has fined 2,000 euros to a passenger who was flying from colony (Germany) to Malta the past March 22 and that smoked aboard the plane and refused to follow the crew instructions.
The company has a firm commitment that both passengers and the crew travel safely and respectfully, without interruptions caused by “indisciplined” passengers.
Thus, a time has been applying a Strict policy of “zero tolerance” with the misconduct of passengers and will continue to take measures to avoid this type of behavior.
From the company they have pointed out that “it is unacceptable” that passengers are forced to suffer unnecessary interruptions for the behavior of a conflicting passenger.
Therefore, it considers that the Court’s decision reinforces its commitment to maintain a safe and respectful environment for both the crew and passengers on all Ryanair flights.
Among other measures that the company can adopt to avoid this type of incidents are the prohibition of traveling, support for investigations of local police authorities and the claim of civil damages.
A few weeks ago, the airline also announced the beginning of a criminal action against a passenger who was expelled from a plane by the Civil Guard after claiming to be a UN Diplomatic to occupy an unclean seat on a flight between Lanzarote and Santiago de Compostela on January 17, which delayed flight 40 minutes.
The airline explained that the passenger was “verbally aggressive” when the crew asked him to see his boarding card. With this action, the passenger could face a penalty of three and 12 months in jail or a pecuniary fine between six and 18 months.
