Around 20% of the settlements that the General Treasury of Social Security is making to the self-employed for the adjustment of contributions with the new system of quotas for real income and that are being reviewed by the administrative managers contain some error.
“Be careful, after reviewing the settlements that the General Treasury of Social Security makes to our clients, “We have detected that for 20% of the cases the calculation contains errors”warned the president of the General Council of Colleges of Administrative Managers, Fernando Jesús Santiago.
For this reason, the president of this collegiate institution pointed out that “the fact that the calculation comes from an Administration does not guarantee that it is correct”, so he pointed out that “it must be reviewed.”
As of December 30, Around 30% of the self-employed had already received the regularization notification. Of the self-employed who have received communication, approximately a third are required to pay and the remaining amounts will be refunded overpaid.
Royal Decree Law 13/2022, of July 26, established a new social security contribution model for the self-employed, based on real returns. Ending the year 2024, Social Security has begun to notify the self-employed of the settlement for the 2023 financial year so that those who have paid less adjust the difference and those who have paid more receive a refund from Social Security.
