Marini absent from Misano
The complicated experience of continues Luke Marini in his first season with Honda, with the Italian rider not even taking part in the last San Marino Grand Prix for fever. As if that were not enough, the 27-year-old from Urbino is now in 25th and last place in the overall standings if we consider the riders who have achieved at least one top-15 finish, with the former VR46 rider taking home just one point at the German Grand Prix.
Bradl further ahead in the standings
In fact, at Misano Adriatico, Marini was overtaken in the standings by the other Honda of Stefan Bradl#6 and team wildcard HRCThe German, like many other riders, in fact made the right decision during the race not to stop in the pits to replace the bike after the first drops of rain fell on the circuit, continuing on slick tyres.
No Bike Change: The Right Decision
A choice that allowed him to recover positions on the track, taking advantage of the mistakes of those who returned to the pits (subsequently forced to a second stop due to the rain that almost immediately disappeared) and closing 14ththus obtaining two points: “We had a long weekend, trying many things and working to help the future of Honda – he commented – I wasn’t expecting much for the race, but when there’s a bit of rain you never know what can happen and experience counts for a lot. We had nothing to lose in these conditions and the sky didn’t look dark enough for rain, so I just stuck with the slicks. I’m really happy to get 14th and get some points, not just for myself but also for the guys I work with in the Test Team. We work a lot on these wildcards and also behind the scenes, so I’m really happy to have given them something to enjoy.”
