President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on Thursday, January 20, commented on the words of American leader Joe Biden about the possibility of a “minor invasion” of the Russian Federation into Ukraine.
“We want to remind the great powers that there are no minor invasions or small nations. Just as there are no small victims and a little grief from the loss of loved ones. I say this as the president of a great power,” he wrote on his Twitter page.
On January 19, Biden acknowledged that Washington and its NATO allies have not reached a consensus on how to respond in the event of a Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The American leader admitted that a “small invasion” would provoke less reaction from the West than a full-scale occupation of Ukraine, for which Moscow would have to pay a “serious price”.
The Russian Federation has repeatedly emphasized that the country has never attacked and is not going to attack Ukraine.
