The Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, has denounced the contributions with which Chinese and Western companies contribute to “Russian terror” and has demanded that the international community impose stronger sanctions against Moscow, which only in the month of October “used against Ukraine more than 2,000 Shahed drones every day.”
“Microchips, microcontrollers, processors and a lot of different parts without which this terrorism would be simply impossible (…) they arrive in Russia from abroad and, unfortunately, also from companies in China, Europe and the United States, which represents a large number of micro-contributions to the constant Russian terror,” the Ukrainian president lamented in his daily evening message.
Zelensky has cited the specific case of the ‘Shahed’ drones, that have “components from other countries”, defending that their supply to Russia “should have been blocked”since its attacks with these devices are intensifying “gradually” and, “unfortunately it can still use Western components for it.”
Likewise, the president has extolled “the power of sanctions” and has insisted on “the need to work much harder to control the export of special components and resources, to prevent Russia from evading the sanctions that have been imposed on it.” “Sanctions must be more severe and must be effective”he added.
In this regard, Zelensky has clarified that this reality is not an exclusive problem of Ukraine, but rather “it is a global threat” and, as such, “only global and special pressure can defeat it.”
