Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called for international aid to be provided to his country for its reconstruction after the massive devastation caused by the Russian attack on it, which has been going on for more than four months.
“It is necessary to create a new basis for our lives: a safe, modern, comfortable and barrier-free life,” he said.
This requires “huge investments and billions of money, new technologies, better practices, modern institutions, and of course reforms,” Zelensky added.
In this context, the Ukrainian Head of State also referred to the meeting of 40 potential donor countries next Monday in Lugano, Switzerland.
On this occasion, the Ukrainian government intends to present its priorities for the reconstruction of the war-torn country for the first time.
Zelensky also stated that the war was not over yet, adding: “Its brutality is increasing in some places.” The president appealed to his countrymen to volunteer to work for the victims of the war.
