President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, on the air of the ICTV channel, announced his readiness to meet with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in any format. It is reported by TASS…
“Ukraine, in turn, is interested in meeting with the Russian president in any format,” the Ukrainian president said. He also announced the chances of a meeting of the Normandy Four (Germany, Russia, Ukraine, France). According to Zelensky, Kiev is ready for it.
Earlier, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the actions of the Ukrainian authorities are preventing a meeting between Zelensky and Putin. According to him, the lack of prospects for such a meeting is primarily due to Kiev’s failure to comply with the Minsk agreements. He also mentioned the draft law of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine “On the State Policy of the Transition Period”, which, according to him, “will mean Kiev’s withdrawal from the Minsk agreements.”
Previously, Peskov said that it is difficult to communicate with Zelensky, because he stubbornly calls Russia a participant in the conflict in Donbass. The spokesman for the Russian president stressed that Russia is not a party to the conflict in southeastern Ukraine, and this is spelled out in the Minsk agreements, and Zelensky’s de facto non-recognition of this document greatly complicates the negotiations.
